Apostille vs Authentication?
An Apostille is a form of certification issued by the Secretary of State to documents for use in countries that participate in the Hague Convention of 1961. Please see the list of participating countries here. An Authentication is also a form of certification but it is issued by the U.S. State Department and is intended for a) documents for use in countries that do NOT participate in the Hague Convention of 1961 and/or b) for federal documents such as FBI Reports and FBI Background Checks. To request an FBI background check authentication or service for another federal document, please visit us here.
Choosing us to be your FBI apostille service means we act on your behalf to obtain these records for you. Because these documents must be requested in-person or through the mail at a federal office, our background check apostille service can save you a considerable amount of time and money when compared to going through the process yourself.
Having an apostille for FBI background checks better ensures you receive the documents you request in-hand when you need them without delay or unnecessary expense.
