Apostille Special Power of Attorney for the Philippines

What is an Apostille?
An apostille verifies the authenticity of a document. All countries that are members of the Hague Convention of 1961 accept an apostille as a valid form of the document’s legitimacy.
The Philippines joined the Hague Convention in 2019 – meaning all documents can receive an apostille instead of having each paper receive legalization from the Embassy or Consulate. Documents no longer require the red ribbon or red seal from the Philippines Embassy or Consulate.
What is a Special Power of Attorney?
A Power of Attorney gives an assigned person the authority to make legal decisions on your behalf. A Special Power of Attorney lets that person enter in legal deals only under specific and clearly defined circumstances… such as purchasing a particular piece of land.
Once you have a proper Special Power of Attorney written, the next step is to have it notarized and apostilled.
Apostille the Special Power of Attorney
While you are at the lawyer’s office to obtain the Special Power of Attorney, have them notarize the document.
Since this is a federal document, once notarized, you will send the papers to the Secretary of State in Washington, DC to obtain the apostille. This can include governmental red tape, steps that you never knew existed, and waiting for someone to answer your questions… someday.

My wife and her siblings have a corporation in the Philippines that owns property. My wife and a brother live in the US.
The siblings need to sign a Board Resolution Document empowering a sister ,who is the secretary of the corporation, to be the signatory of the sales contract. 4 siblings including the sister who will be the signatory, are in the Philippines. As mentioned, my wife and a brother are in the US. They need to sign the document here and it would have to be consularized or apostilled. Is this something that yo are able to do?
